STEP 1 – Simply Complete a Membership Application Form

STEP 2 – Come along to our office with your:

First savings deposit to activate your account

One-off membership fee (Currently £3 and free for young saver accounts)

Two forms of identification -
one original document from each of the following sections:

Section A
Documents to confirm your identity, such as:

  • Valid passport
  • Birth certificate
  • Home Office ID
  • Full drivers license
  • Benefit book or original letter from Benefits Agency
  • Marriage certificate
  • HM Forces ID

Section B
Documents to confirm your address, such as:

  • Recent utility/council tax bill
  • Recent statement (not more than three months’ old):
    bank/credit card, building society, credit union, mortgage
  • Official letters (for example from Benefits Agency, employer, college)
  • Benefit book
  • Council rent card
  • Medical card

If you don’t live in Hackney you will also need a document to prove that you work, study or volunteer in Hackney (e.g. pay slip, letter from college, employers etc)

Don’t worry if you don’t have these documents. Talk to our helpful staff about the sort of documents you can provide.
